Provide phase III construction engineering service for the advance work for the $600 million Dan Ryan Expressway reconstruction project. The advance work included reconstructing the frontage roads and modernizing signalized intersections along those roads. It also involved constructing new retaining walls and eliminating and rebuilding access ramps to widen the mainline corridor in preparation of the lanes that are being added. The frontage roads were reconstructed and modernized to allow detoured traffic to local businesses and residences during the construction of the mainline contract. Accurate Group, Inc.’s responsibilities included survey verification, measurement and documentation of contract pay quantities, construction engineering and inspection, and oversight, quality control/quality assurance of consultant services.

Construction inspection and layout services provided for the reconstruction of the expressway between 31st Street and I-57 for the Illinois Department of Transportation. Work included the layout of the new northbound and southbound express lanes (four in each direction) and local lanes (two in each direction), retaining walls, barrier walls, interchanges, storm sewers, lighting, signage, high mast tower installation, pavement marking, and landscaping. Improvements to the cross streets requires layout of the curb and gutter, concrete and bituminous pavement construction, bridge construction, and pavement widening. Additional survey work included vertical and horizontal control layout.
