Responsible for the design plans, specifications, cost estimate and quantities for removal of two structures and construction of one long triple barrel box culvert. The reconstruction will include the removal of two existing structures, US Rte. 6 and IL 50 over Midlothian Creek and construction of triple barrel box culvert from upstream US Rte. 6 to downstream of IL 50. Additional work will include two new right-turn lanes at the intersection, reconstruction of the raised median, replacement of the B-6.24 curb and gutter, adjustments/relocations of the inlets, manholes and catch basins, traffic signal modernization, replacement of existing sidewalks, providing a 10 foot wide shared use path on the north half of US Rte. 6, relocating of an existing bus shelter, pavement markings and tree removal and replacement. The length of improvement along US Rte. 6 will be approximately 1300 ft. The length of improvement along IL 50 will be approximately 525 ft. The reconstruction will be completed utilizing a detour route for US Rte. 6 and staged construction for IL 50. Access will be maintained at all times to driveways and entrances on IL 50.
