We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Jr. Civil Engineer, based out of our Lincolnshire, IL office. This position will provide civil engineering services for projects throughout Illinois. The ideal candidate will be a team player and possess an EIT certification. The successful candidate will work closely with their supervisor and more experienced project managers, engineers and designers.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform design calculations, quantity estimates and cost estimates
• Compile Specifications
• Prepare permit applications
• Perform CADD drafting
• Maintain project documentation such as calculations, correspondence with the client, meeting minutes, etc.
• Assist in the preparation of written reports and presentations of project findings

Desired Skills and Experience:
• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• EIT certification preferred or the ability to obtain EIT within 6 months of hire
• Experience with Microstation and GeoPak
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products
• Effective time-management, strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good organizational skills

This position will provide resident engineering services for projects throughout Illinois. The ideal candidate will be a team player and possess a PE license and Documentation Certification S-14 with at least 7 years of experience with an emphasis in construction management. The successful candidate will work closely with the Resident Engineer Manager and other resident engineers, inspectors and support staff.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintain field and office records
• Direct field inspection/support staff
• Ensure application of plans and specifications
• Review contractor pay estimates and submittals
• Constructability Reviews of contract plans
• Review and analyze bituminous and concrete designs and other material approval
• Review quality control field data
• Submit pay estimates and change orders

Desired Skills and Experience:
• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• Licensed PE in Illinois required
• Documentation Certification S-14
• Minimum of 7 years of construction management experience
• Additional training in RE Materials Training
• Knowledge of federal, state and local codes and regulations and standards governing construction projects
• Familiar with IDOT and Tollway Specifications and Special Provisions

The successful candidate will work closely with their survey crews and fill in for surveyors as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Project surveyor/project manager
• Assist engineering staff in scope development, budget, fee schedule and execution
• Primary communication link between survey staff and client
• Implement QA/QC practices for final survey deliverables
• Schedule and direct survey work staff to meet project objectives
• Field work as necessary to finish survey jobs

Desired Skills and Experience:
• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• PLS licensure required
• Minimum of 10 years of surveying experience
• Topographic surveys for transportation, bridge, hydrographic, utility and municipal
• Photogrammetry/LiDAR ground control
• Land surveys including ALTA, CSM, subdivision plats and preparation of Transportation Project Plats and traditional right of way plats

Primary Responsibilities:
• Keep survey Party Chief apprised of applicable daily survey activities
• Keep in close contact with Party Chief to assume a full understanding of the scope of services of projects
• Assist Party Chief in down loading data collected daily and transmit the data files to the office daily
• Responsible for contacting the Survey Manager to trouble shoot any technical difficulties the survey crew encounters
• Perform and participate on survey crews for various surveying services, including but not limited to preliminary surveys, construction staking, as-built surveys, depth of cover surveys, topographic surveys, etc.
• Assist Resident Engineer during construction inspection

Qualification:
• Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering plus two years of experience in the job offered or as a Civil Engineer or Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering plus five years of experience in the job offered or as a Civil Engineer required.

Job Description:
• Design and production of contract documents for transportation projects, principally for bridges, culverts and retaining walls.
• Perform design calculations, construction drawing production, specifications and quantity calculations.
• Responsible for Phase I and II plans and specifications associated with bridge construction and rehabilitation as well as bridge inspection.
• Design and detailing of box culverts with horizontal wing walls and retaining walls. Mentor and train junior engineers.
